The Coen Brothers craft a well made and funny look at what Hollywood was like in the early 1950s during the later Golden Age of Hollywood when studios started to lose control of their actors and censorship became less strict with their comedy, Hail, Caesar!. Though it can be slow at times and a few other parts, the film is hilarious and acts much like an anthology film that looks at various different things going on in one studio while the kidnapping of one actor, played by George Clooney, is the main focus of the film that drives most of the story. Hail, Caesar! is perfect for anyone who's into the history of films and a huge film buff as there are numerous references to historical events related to Hollywood occurring all throughout it. All but Josh Brolin, playing real life fixer Eddie Mannix, play someone who represents real life people from that time such as Clooney's character being a lot like Kirk Douglas and Scarlett Johansson as an Esther Williams-type swimming actress and they all play them perfectly. Over all: 80%
