Free Comic Book Day 2018: 2000 A.D. Regened

Free Comic Book Day 2018: 2000 A.D. Regened is the first comic I've read from the 2000 A.D. imprint, a British comic book anthology that is home to several well known characters the most famous being Judge Dredd. This issue, much like the rest of the series since its inception in 1977, includes stories of its most well known characters but delving into their younger days. We see Dredd as a cadet taking part in crowd control during a sports game and showing how even when he was starting out, he was still very strict with enforcing the law. Other stories focus on how Johnny Alpha, a mutant bounty hunter, handled his first assignment from Strontium Dogs and D.R. & Quinch, alien criminal time travelers, who try to alter history to become rich. Each of the stories are of different lengths and have different writers and artists involved in each of them. All of these stories are really well done, showcasing their different styles and methods through both their writing and artwork. Cadet Dredd is fun with a hilarious ending, Strontium Dog: Trial Run! has good action scenes and well paced, Humancraft is a hilarious tale of aliens playing a video game based on the real world, and the story with D.R. & Quinch is non stop lunacy. Writers Matt Smith, Ned Hartley, Owen Johnson, and Colin Bell all provide superb writing with the only negative is that you wish the comic was bigger to give more of their stories. With that great writing you also get colorful, well detailed, and brisk artwork from the likes of Neil Googe, Len O'Grady, Ben Willsher, Tanya Roberts, and Dom Regan. So if this is your first time reading 2000 A.D., much like myself, or your a regular reader I'm sure you will be entertained by Free Comic Book Day 2018: 2000 A.D. Regened as much as I was. Over all: 100%
