Mad Max: Fury Road

If one can compare the magnificence, beauty, and simple look of Mona Lisa to an action film it is definitely Mad Max: Fury Road. The film is beyond perfect, and though I've never seen the previous 3 films in the series, this being my first is reason enough to make me want to see them all. Tom Hardy replaces Mel Gibson as the title character, and he plays it to perfection with showing how broken he is and being mostly silent and yet saying so much. With a very simple plot that proves that big budget action films don't need an overly complicated plot to tell a story, amazing action scenes with practical effects, small use of CGI in making the background and scenery look absolutely beautiful as well as hiding some needed wires for the stunts, great acting from Hardy and Charlize Theron, its pro feminist ideals, and the fact that George Miller was in his late '60s and could make movies the same way younger filmmakers could and without faulting after having only done the last one in the mid-1980s. Over all: 100%
